  • Well mine finally arrived today, came down from Sydney on the back of a truck to be registered here in Canberra. Unfortunately it has been pouring rain all day so not much chance for a proper drive as yet. I think the sun will reappear this weekend so here's hoping for a decent drive and better pics.[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

    • Beautiful in green! I saw one about a month ago going down Auburn Rd Camberwell around 6pm, and almost sure I saw another this morning at Camberwell Junction.

There was a grey one driving down Burwood Rd around 6pm a few days ago which I assume is from Camberwell VW

      • I have still only seen one other on the road... a Viper Green one before I picked mine up.. since I have been in mine I have not spotted any others...

I do love the many Open Mouthed looks I get... I had my 21 year old son in the car the other night and he was carrying on about the guys in the car next to us... they were all hanging out the windows almost drooling... and he had no idea why!!!! I am still wondering if he is really mine!

        • Going back 4-6 weeks Camberwell VW were running both a gren an grey as demos. I drove the grey DSG and decided on my colour at that point.

That's a little disappointing, as it's probably the dealerships cars. I did see a blue rocco in the middle of Launceston mid December...

The Evoque was released a little earlier than Roc but I've seen a lot more of them around, maybe they have more stock for immediate delivery

            • Personally I loved the green at first sight, spectacular on a sunny day and at night. I may have thought about blue but did not want a 2nd blue car in a row. I will say though that the green totally changes colour on a rainy/overcast day and looks much darker and more of a Kermit green. But it is worth it for the sunny days and, having read some other comments, should not be too common.
I heard from a mate there is a RB rocco in my area but I have yet to see it or any others on the road.

              • The evoque is sure to have a bigger market appeal than the Roc, even more so given we have just the performance model. Pretty limited in appeal really.

Vfacts show sports coupes selling around 13,000 units or so last year. VW sell at least that many Tiguans annually.

I get the appeal of the viper green just not for me.

                • I really like Viper Green... I just couldn't live with it for the expected 5 years I will have the Scirocco.. plus I was concerned at the potential re-sale of such a stand-out colour... it seems to be one that you either love or hate... no middle ground.

I too have seen several Evoque's about... that would have been my choice of car if the Roc hadn't been available... they are much nicer in the flesh (so to speak) than pictures convey. They are just crazy expensive when you start adding in stuff that you would expect to be standard.. living up to the Range Rover expectation I guess.

                  • Just a little bit OT but according to the new car showroom on the carsales iPhone app you can spec an evoque up to about $130k!!! And I also love the viper green, saw one at the dealer when I just went to have a look (I'm only 17 so no scirocco for me ) they also had an RB and I think that I'd take the green over the blue!!

HAha... at the age of 17 I think most of us would take the Viper Green over the Rising Blue... definitely more pulling power..

I saw the new Das Auto ad last night on TV... it now has a guy talking on his phone but stops as his mouth is wide open looking at a Viper Roc.. still one of the best ads on TV..

This is it... straight off the VW site... and I think it is even better than the original one... especially the ending... Classic.

That's a great Ad. I still chuckle at the dog barking at the RVC popping through the badge.

As for Viper, I couldn't justify spending my own money on it, but if someone else was ponying up for it.. Sure.
