  • I reckon it should be off to CarCare Products for the professional Nanolex treatment... it just makes Black so much deeper and protects it from those nasty water marks etc...
Yup, will be working on it in the weekend

God to see you are now in your Roc. You mentioned taking photos in an earlier post. The latest Motor has a feature on shooting your drive. Might be worth a look.

Beautiful shot! I like the contrast of the slightly gloomy sky and its colours

                  • I'm going to add a snap comparison between my Scirocco, TT (2.0TFSI) and my previous Mk6 GTI (both with and without B/F Stg1)

                    Cabin
Similarity between the TT and Roc is quite strong esp with regards to minor switches. Golf is obviously more spacious in the rear.
Though some reference has been made towards the thick A pilars, I didn't find it to be a problem. The narrow rear window makes see cars to the left and rear a hit and miss affair. You need to make full use of your rear and door mirror to see.

                    Performance
All three cars sound quite different. The Roc the most purposeful followed by the Golf then the TT.

The Golf has the best low speed torque and therefore driving in traffic is a joy. The Roc is a real slug below 2000 rpm, as a result, following traffic is a concertina affair (a gap builds up and you then play catch up) DSG in drive is not useful here. However any speed above 2500 rpm brings yahoo acceleration and attendant fuel consumption
The TT is somewhere between the two.

                    Fuel Economy

                    The TT averages low 8l/100km
                    The Golf about 7.8
and the Roc most thirsty at 8.8 - 9.1

                    Ride Comfort
I find the DCC on the Roc rather comfortable (normal mode) as I place a premium on damping control. followed by the GTI and TT trails feeling under damped

                    hope this helps

                    • Thanks for your comments...

Cabin- I'm still not convinced the R cabin is special enough especially given the wow exterior..
Compromised sight lines are an issue with most coupes you just get used to using your mirrors (and ears) more.

Performance - what you say kind of figures. The Golf does have better torque numbers lower in the rev range so your assessment sounds very fair.

Consumption- presuming the R will imporve economy as things free up (high numbers might also have something to do with driving style at the moment?

Pleased about your thoughts on ride. I think most (all) Audi's are under damped. Don't expect the R to be 'magic carpet' but don't want to have my fillings knocked out either.

                      Thanks again for your thoughts.

                        • Decided to wash/wax/seal protect the roc today, then went for a drive up in the Dandenong's for an afternoon lunch at Miss Marples. While there we spotted a Silver Rocco turning into a side street. Its the first time ive seen one not at the dealership.

I took some pics along the way.

Some v nice photos. The Candy stands out well against either the blue or background.

How was the ride heading up and down Mt Dandenong? The Basin Sassafras Road isn't the smoothest around so if you went up that way then that would have been a reasonable test of ride comfort.

I still haven't seen a Roc on the road here. Did lot's of k's around Syney last week and saw nothing there either.

Comfort mode was fine. I would say comfort mode was mildly firm though.

Sports mode... Lucky the seats are soft as you wouldnt have a spine left from all the bumps! We did keep it in sports mode though.
