Hooray! Rims have arrived! Im glad ive gone with the matte black finish and a bit of chrome.

Now to wait for some damn tyres from the US! Gotta wait as my Continental's are on backorder! I wonder if my 235's will stretch over 9 inch width? Its only a 1 inch increase and theyd only be on there until the 265's arrive.
Scirocco R - Candy White, Sat Nav,tinted windows, H&R Springs, 19x9 ETA BETA Tettsut X Black rims.

Audi S3 Sedan - Riviera Blue Exclusive paint, PP2, H&R Super Sport springs

what offset you get? im keen to see what the roccos can handle under the guards up front
are you going to get the chromed bits painted?
also 235/35 on a 9 isnt stretched. a 235/35 of most brands can be fitted legally to a 9.5 wheel. what brands are the tyres and ill tell you

        Offset is 40.

The tyres are the standard ones that come with the car. Bridgestone Potenza's. I called bridgestone and they confirmed they could go on a rim of up to 9.5 inches.

I got the tyres put on on Saturday. I think they look a bit too stretched, but I was impatient to put them on the car.

the 9et40 sits allright, thought it would ahve been a bit more aggressive
its not stretched if it legal. prob a good size, no tyre flex etc, but if they aren't poking or flush might as well slap some more rubber on for a nice view from the back and better grip

Anyone know anything about the Caractere CW1 wheels? I know they have them on a Scirocco on the website. The longer I spend looking at them, the more I like them. Trying to convince myself to get them.
MY12 Scirocco R - slightly not stock

              Expect to pay a fortune.
Charactere stuff is extremely pricey here and has to be ordered from overseas.

Much chcepaer and easier to get some performance alloys from tirerack

They do look good but having a look on their website they don't list Scirocco under VW and in their sizes the only one that has an ET is the 9" x 20 with a 44 ET.... Might end up with the same issues as GolfR Tallies..

Hmm not too concerned with ordering them, it's the size that's the issue. I will check out tire rack though

Matt black OZ Ultraleggera Or Black Powder coated VW Talladega (19x

I am thinking to sell the brand new Talladega rims (Silver) as soon as picking up the Scirocco from dealership on the day and have them refitted with the Ultraleggera rims but reusing the same tires (Assuming it can fit if ordered the 235/35 rims). I ordered the candy white and it looks much nicer with black rims (IMO), initially I thought to have the rims powder coated, but seems don't have a good deal for it if done by dealership (and also don't feel like leaving the car on rocks for few days when it is brand new for aftermarket!), with that amount of money if getting from dealership and a little more I could well owe the OZ ones (if could sell the Talladega ones well) which presumably are better performance and looking too? Really have no opinion on this, any advice would be very much appreciated!

Anyone would be interested in buying the brand new (99%) Talladega rims only?

                    Thanks,
                    Joe

(I personally prefer thinner spokes than the thick ones of Talladega though it has less)

Caractere CW1's look hot especially in the graphite colour.

But I think I'd rather get the rear apron + diffuser from this Scirocco!

Yeah, I also prefer a better diffuser than the stock one too.

In terms of the rims, thanks for forwarding the relevant thread! Anyone has experiences with OZ Ultraleggera rims? It looks pretty standout on the Scirocco too I think.

You have quite a bit of choice in terms of rim width with the Scirocco... my rears are 10 inch running 265x30x19 Continental 5P with an offset of 40.
There isnt much room but they dont rub at all.
I should have gone for 265x35x19 though...maybe a little down the track

What are you running on the fronts?
What is the widest tire that I could run on my stock 19" rims do u know? I'm looking for more traction at the front but also don't want to throw out the steering too much. (I know that if u go to wide at the front steering feel as ease is compromised).

I am running 8.5 inch rims with 245x35x19 but I could easily have gone 255....
You can run 245 without any drama on the stock 8 inch rim... tyre width isn't going to effect your steering with the relative changes you are making...so I wouldn't worry.
