Why would you even bother to ask that question? It seems that the rear vision on your GTI is bad enough to require a Camera... the Roc is substantially more rear vision challenged than GTI.....
Apart from that... who said there needed to be an issue with rear vision to install an RVC?
RVC on the camera on the GTI is a bit of a waste. Yes I ticked the box, rarely use it.

It's the first option I'd tick again on my GTI, and consider it indispensable. Each to their own on these things - especially when safety's involved.
I agree...especially on the Scirocco... they come standard with rear parking sensors and I wish there were front ones as well.
I am so used to using the sensors and I just know I will become quickly adapted to the RVC... the thing is.. you don't realise how accustomed to something you become until you don't have it... like in a Hire Car.

So true. Every time I drive my mum's Mk5 and reverse, I instinctively look down at the head unit and wonder why the image isn't displaying...
Seriously though, while the benefits of an RVC have been done to death in the Mk6 forum, it's worth reiterating that it's an awesome bit of kit for the money. All it takes is to avoid one ding (or more importantly, a child / animal / other irreplaceable thing), and it's paid for itself many times over.
Not to mention that it always raises an Ooh! Ahh! from passengers.
I had a package arrive today... my RVC turned up 5 days after I ordered and paid for it... I have no idea when I am going to get to install it but at least I have it... I will use the time to Colour code the bracket... which is marked as a Bentley item...

Sweet! Colour coding! We know what you'll be doing for entertainment this week
Interested in knowing how this goes. As others above, I think the RVC option is one of the best, and I will miss having it.
My only gripe with this is the camera just sits there, and doesn't look like it has much protection. Won't it get dirty easily? Easy for some goof to do something to it as well.

It sits above the license plate under the ledge so pretty inconspicuous, though agree it will probably need regular cleaning. I will follow the install with interest as I'm sure Marti would like it for her CW we are picking up for her on Thursday.

Well I am about two thirds of the way through installing the RVC and the Active Sub.
The Camera holder is painted and the RVC cable has been run from the boot to the Radio. That part was reasonably straight forward once I had figured out where I wanted to run the cable.
The hardest thing so far has been finding a way to run the power cable from the Battery to the Active Sub... this is not for the faint hearted...lol.
Tomorrow I hook up the Power, Earth and Reverse sense to the RVC, remove the rear bumper, cut the hole for the camera, connect up the cables... then tackle the rest of the Sub install.
Some pics of my poor little Roc pulled apart...
Once it is all finished I will do a proper How To with more pics etc...
