  • Scirocco R Modifications - RVC Info

So, I have been searching around for potential mods for my Rocco R when it arrives early next year and one of the things I wanted was a Reversing Camera tied into the RNS510 similar to Golf, Tig etc.

The following link provides all the info to be able to add the camera.. the kit is available from Kufatec Germany for 389 Euro plus 85 Euro DHL shipping to Australia.

That price includes 19% VAT but I am not sure if that is applicable to orders for outside of the EU.

I was following the thread you provided and it says that 2011 Rocs have RVC option.

I hope so as I told my dealer I wanted RVC with my RNS

Unfortunately you will be disappointed.. it is only an option in certain markets and on certain models and the R we are getting does not have it as an option... Even the UK don't get RVC as an option on Scirocco which is why this kit is reasonably popular.

It will be somewhere around the A$600 mark landed I think. I am waiting on a reply from Kufatec regarding the VAT.

I have had a reply from Kufatec which says their checkout system automatically corrects the pricing so there is no 19% VAT on the final price. This would put the total price including shipping at approx 412 Euro which currently is A$542.00.

I believe the R comes with OPC. Will this work with RVC and will our RNS have video in ports back of the RNS unit?

          Just thinking out loud atm

I believe the answers are Yes, Yes and Yes... Exactly the same as Golf models with Optical Parking Sensors and RVC.

LED rear lights? Like the Golf R? What about that cheeky ECU software upgrade.
Probably the only two I'd consider

Unfortunately there are no Factory alternatives for LED rear lights for the Scirocco (like Golf R) but there are after market ones from Europe I believe... I will try and find some info.
As for Tunes.. there will be the normal choices I guess... It will be interesting to see how long it takes for a tune to be available for the general public.

I am also looking at having my roof wrapped in gloss black to match the sunroof.. and then there are all the Carbon fibre parts available from OSIR...

                Edit:
Here is the German Company with LED Tail lights for Scirocco https://www.dectane.de/TAILLIGHTS/Ta...W/VW-SCIROCCO/

Pictures in this thread show how they look on a Black R-line in Norway... http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/for...led+led#p80356

                    Hi AP..
                    That is good to know.
I had a good look at 10D's thread to see if he had one but couldn't see any info.
Does your "R" have RNS or Standard head unit?

Has the transformation started on that pretty little Rocco?

For those that are interested a kit can also be obtained from the UK.
With Colour Coded housing and Insured freight to Australia the total is 395 Pounds (A$615 at current rates).

Is the rocco ECU going to have the same problems for software upgrades as the current crop of VWs? E.g. ECU has to be taken out and cracked open for a remap?

Is that across the board?? I don't think it is necessarily the case with Golf R... and there is at least one Scirocco R in the Country through Scuderia Imports that has an HPA tune..
Besides, are they really "cracked open" or is it that they can't be tuned through the ODB II port and need to be removed from the vehicle and done on the "bench".

I don't see that they will be any different to those that are currently being sold elsewhere in the world and they don't seem to have any issues tuning them... companies like REVO GIAC APR HPA etc all have plenty of supporters in the Scirocco Community.

I know the mid 2011 and onwards Tiguan 2.0 TSI has the so called "chastity belt" and has to be physically cracked open, hopefully the rocco won't be the same.

The Scirocco R engine is older technology than the rest of the Scirocco range, so I doubt it will the type of ECU needed to be removed from the car and opened up to modify the map.
