Snapped these pics of a Scirocco at the VW dealer yesterday.
Looked awesome and price tagged at 33,000 Euros

dude, only 33 euros for ABT SCIROCCO???? which is about 45k!!! that is bloody bloody cheap as sh*t!!!! i would buy that in a heart beat!!!

yeah but this should be the 'sport' version I guess, starting at 22.500 Euros. If you ad the ABT-bodykit, wheels and exhaust it probably will cost you 33.000Euros. If I will be in the position to but a new scirocco, it definitely will be the 'R'

so...in maybe 12 months we will get a car about due for a mid-life facelift.

And if you don't pre-order it you will probably have to wait 8 -12 mths for them to build it due to the usual backlogs.

At the risk of getting shot down... I'm pretty sure there's at least one here already.

I was coming off Marsh St onto West Botany St at Arncliffe and I'm 99% sure one went past me in the opposite direction & headed into the M5 westbound tunnel.

Front on, as it came towards me, I thought it was a modified R at first... then I caught the side & rear as it came around the corner. I was slowing as I turned and nearly hit the car in front when I realised what it was!

There were no badges that I could see but it definately wasn't a 2-door R. Totally different rear-end and tail lights, plus I'm certain it had dealer plates hanging off it.

As I said, I suspect I'll get shouted down, but I'm pretty sure of what I saw.

It'll finally be here 1st quarter next year, R only, from $48,490 and VW is canning the 3 door Golf R. Saw one on Victoria Rd in Drummoyne a month or so ago and it's a stunner!

these things really look awesome in the flesh - even in 'base' mode (Have pics, but need to get my post count up). Glad to hear that they may be bringing the Scirocco R down here, but I still believe they should bring over a watered-down version too, maybe a 1.4 118TSI version that differentiates it a lot from Golf/Eos equivalents.

Exactly my thoughts after seeing them in Singapore last year.
