After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Who knows, I guess VW Australia assumes that they only people who will buy one would be those who would get a GTi otherwise. This wasn't the case for us as we tossed up between a Mini and the Scirocco, so VW NZ importing it got them a sale from us they otherwise wouldn't have got.
