I haven't bought a new VW myself, but I understand that things are made to order and can take months and months to get shipped here... which leaves me completely confused as to why certain models or variants are not available in the Australian market.
The only thing I can think of is emmisions maybe?
I do wonder what the real reason is.
If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.
as far as im concerned that v6 eos is a waste of space over the tfsi. its only front wheel drive. so you get a heavier engine, more fuel usage and barely more performance. may as well get a tfsi and chip it, have the same power as the v6, use less fuel and have better handling characteristics.

its for the same reason i drive a R32 buddy..
i love it how every one harps on about the lighter engine handling yada yada
I bought my Car because it sounds great, has heaps of torque, and has the 6 cylinder prestige..
if i was buying a I4 Turbo it wouldnt be a VW i was pouring my money in to
im into Class not Fast.. so ill stick with my Wee6 dubby
hitman im not having a go at the vr6 engine. hell i'm putting one in my mark 2 . i agree totally about the torque and the sound oh god the sound. just saying that its a bit dumb for it to only be fwd as the 4wd in the r32 is a bit part in what makes it waht it is.

thats alright..
sorry just most of the guys in the vw clubs over here are right plonkers.. and bitch about nose heavy Vr6s and how 8v 1.6s are better..
and it just makes me feel like saying **** off and learn to drive..
Sure a lighter car with lighter engine will handle better.. but i know mine sounds better and is a million times nicer to drive cos it has torque.. (even tho it isnt a diesel)
Good **** man.. good to see your whopping a VR6 in to it..
the eos's may be 4 motion.. ill check next time i see one.. (there are hundreds of em here)
Guys, I have the best of both worlds - the Eos with the torque of the V6 (Exactly the same!!) and the frugality of the 1.6 petrol.... why would you disagree with the convertible of the year 2008 and buy the tFSI?.... the diesel kicks a^%&e and the little extra weight up front even reduces the tendency to smoke the front end with the roof weight in the boot....
There is no such thing as 4Motion in the Eos as the rear end has no room for the diff because of the roof mechanisms
BTW - Eos did get sports car of the year 2008 (Carsales) and Convertible of the Year 2008 (Motor) BUT it is really a cruiser.... but it goes like stink with the Diesel chipped.... woohoo!!
