Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Unless they are really expensive coilovers, it probably isnt worth the trouble to do it.

It will also depend on whether it is actually repairable.

Your best bet would be a machinist local to you who is happy to do odd/strange/small jobs. Good luck finding one!

Agree, any "real" machining shop, depending on the damage you could even try a thread file, most likely the best approach

Otherwise i would be worth talking to the motorsports shock guys
      Toperformance, Vermont
      Quadrent, Berwick
(They are Koni and Bilstien agents respectively, but will most likely do this sort of thing)

I would say Rick Kemp, but you will not get him, too busy, too good at chassis
Best bet would probably be Baker Bros, Huntingdale. Old school place, you can expect to get cancer from waling in the door, but Garry knows his stuff, be aware they are only open in the afternoons.
