19" Talladega 2011 vs 2012 Golf R / (Sirocco?) wheel offset?

hey guys,
I buckled one of my black OEM 19" wheels on my 2011 Golf R, and I've been trying to track down a replacement rim.

I've finding some conflicting information and I was hoping someone here could set me on the straight and narrow.

First question...

Is there any difference between the Talladega 19x8" rims from a 2011 Golf R and a 2012 Golf R? I found a set of Talladega's that say they have a 41mm offset, and some that say they have a 50mm offset. I'm just wondering if the difference I'm seeing is between the year models of cars?

Second question...
I've read on various forums that the wheels from the Sirocco R, won't fit a Golf R? (again - this could be what the different offsets are referring to). But in all the adverts I see - it says "Fits Golf R/Sirocco".

Can anybody give me the facts on the above?

So this is where the confusion is... Like - in this thread (http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...set-71158.html), she_dub says the Golf R is 51mm offset, and the Sirocco is 41mm.

The set of rims I'm looking at are 50mm offset (Genuine VW Talladega's), but the advert says "Suits Golf R and Sirocco" which I know isn't the case. I just need to confirm for sure if the Golf R is 41mm or 50mm.

I've also seen replica Talladega's which say they have a 45mm offset. Not that I want to get a replica rim, but it just adds to the confusion of what's correct etc.

Why not check one of your current rims? The offset will be on the inside of one of the spokes or around the hub area.

Scirroco is 19 x 8 ET41.

R has 18 x 7.5 ET51 or 19 x 8 ET50.

Been a while since I studied the Mk6 so you'll need to check whether you can get them to fit without work, legally.

Ok so compared to the Detroits on my GTI the Scirroco Talladegas would give you 3mm more inner - cool - but 15mm more external poke. Given the R had those plastic lips fitted with 19s to meet ADRs they won't be legal, although you may be able to play with camber or lowering to make it work.. if that's your desire. I'd just wait for a set of R ones to pop up.

Dutch77's information is absolutely correct.

There are many sellers out there trying to sell market Scirocco R's 19x8 +41 to suit Golf's. While they do fit and bolt on fine, they protrude 9mm outward compared to stock R 19x9 +50 and will likely cause rubbing issues without modifying the front fenders or run aftermarket camber tops or ball joint bits and pieces.

Thanks a lot for your help guys. I ended up pulling the rim off and I can confirm it's ET50.

In other good news, I took the wheel to a shop down at the Gold Coast (Depulu Wheels) for them to take a look at, and because the buckle was on the inside of the wheel, they were able to restraighten it while I waited (total time was just over an hour). So that saved me a small fortune compared to buying a new rim.
