Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Have you had any thought on other wheels that are similar to the Calais wheels?
What about a set of R31 Ti wheels? You can get them dirt cheap, polish up really nicely and would look really good on the MK1 i reckon
Plus they are 4x114.3, and if they are flat faced on the back (which I can find out for you quite easily), they could be redrilled!

Mate just got his all polished up the other day

      they look the biz.

I've actually seen these on skylines befores and though that they could look alright, and they sure do all polished up!

do you know what the size is?

If possible do find out the flatness of the back of it, (you know hat I mean)

and also do you think you can find out the x factor of the wheels? thats the distance between the back of the spokes and the mounting face (the flat part where the nuts go)

To fit a mk 1 the "x factor" needs to be about 30mm or more, I believe

Damn Lorenz, those look sharp. Plenty of old school flavour in that. Are those spokes slanted in the same direction for all four wheels?

Im pretty sure they are 15x6.5, offset will be around +35~ offset off the top of my head. Will get someone to measure the "x factor". I dont have a set lyring around, but know plenty of people who do, so ill get the info for you soon ok along with the flatness of the back of the wheel hub
