I went with kw springs as they only lowered the car 20mm and returned the car back to Oem height.

If you install 19s on a r36 even if you even with 35 profile tyre it is still raised higher than the 40/18's

I lowered my r36 as the 4x4 look the 19's gave frustrated me

Hi I'm not sure how you ended up with a 4x4 look... mine looks nothing like that.

Sure the ride height is 8mm higher with 255/35R19, but the tyre to wheel arch gap has dropped by 8mm also.
For my setup, dropping another 20mm would effectively drop ride height 12mm below factory height.
Also, for me, the reason for dropping with shorter springs would be to reduce tyre to wheel arch gap, not to reduce ride height.
Its the wheel arch gap that make the 4x4 look IMHO.

If you look at the before and after pics, its hard to see the ride height difference and much easier to see the gap reduction in wheel arch to tyre.

I like having a bit of clearance from road and driveway obstacles anyway.

      Before - Factory 235/40R18

      After - 255/35R19
