  • Increasing Rim size

    Hi All,

I am currently running on 165/65 R15 and I want to move up to 17" without compromising the rolling radius.

Can anybody help in advising what set up I should be at to achieve this (???/?? R17 )

    Cheers,

Yeah 205/40/17 is actually spot on.

With regards to the actual tyres itself, i think i gotta start making a lot of phone calls to see if they have got any.

        Thanks SoVeReIgN

What will fit is a good question to be asking about now...

215/40R17 is a more common tyre and will be put your speedo out by 1.4% (reality is that this will most likely make it more acurate as most speedo's read under anyway).

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

try this site too.. similar but more info www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp

is your caddy one of the new ones? if so it doesnt have 165 tyres... it should have the same as the golf ie 195/65/15 and hence 225/45/17 would be the go. maybe double check on that one.

Nah, my Caddy is a 2005 model. I saw the attached picture on this site a while ago and ever since then, all ive been doing is saving my money to do up my Caddy exactly like it The only thing I want different on my Caddy are the attached rims.

I do have one more question about the rims/tyre size...........would increasing from 165/65 R15 to 205/40/17 cause any problems and would it require any modifications to the rotors, suspension etc...

              Cheers,

That is one cool caddy! It may look a bit higher depending on what tyres you fit.
