Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 13 inch tyres

I wasnt sure if I should post ths here or in wheels so I thought I would try here first.

Does any one know what 13 inch tyres are available?
    I was looking for some 205/60 13's
there are some on ebay but they are 5 years old so are probably hard as a rock.
I have checked a few manufactures web pages but whith not much luck. I pressume some are still made as the XU 1s came with 13s and Im sure the collectors out there would still be using 13s on them.

Don't know how available they are, but at least it shows they are made. Most links seem to talk about motor sports, so I'm not even sure if they are a road legal tyre.

Your best bet to is to talk to the experts. Head to your local tyre place and ask them.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Try Gem Parts Australia - they specialize in performance and resto stuff for Geminis, Toranas etc. and should give you a good run down on whats available. I know Kumho does a 205/60 13 road/race tyre - not sure what the quality would be like though.
