Ppl are mad not to use tirerack even with shipping included u save heaps
Pretty much! Even if you cant keep it under $1000 to skip tax it still works out better most of the time.
Wasnt a fan of those wheels, but they look alright on the silver mkv adzy! any reason you didn't go 18s though?
Yeah they look better than I thought they would. I went 17's as I wanted to go as light as possible and to keep the cost of tyres down as I plan on hitting the track a lot for the next year. If I wanted just a cruise wheel and no track work I would have got 18's or 19's for sure but yeah... light as possible is the plan
A few questions on your recent purchase from tirerack please.
You mentioned a while ago that there was no tax payable on your purchase. Is that still the case - ie you haven't received another bill recently?
Approx how much did you save compared with buying the same wheels locally?
I noticed there were no VW caps in your photos. Is that because you hadn't transferred them across, or didn't the original caps fit in the Enkei wheels?
I believe the RPF1 is approx 3.5kg lighter than the original Denvers. Would this reduction in unsprung weight affect cars with ACC fitted? I mean would the calibration of the ACC be based around the weight of the original Denver wheels?

I received no extra bill from customs as the wheels cost just under a grand.
I saved between $800 - $1300 based on different quotes.
The VW caps dont fit as the centre hub is a few mill smaller, spiggot rings are required when mounting the wheels which tirerack include and I think they look tuffer without caps
They are actually 5.1 KG lighter!! I strongly doubt that ACC has anything to do with wheel weight so should be no issues ther at all, your supension will however improve out of site as the struts will have less weight to dampen. The ACC would controle damper settings based on piston movement I beleive.
