tyre stretch how-to??

i've searched youtube and nobody really EXPLAINS how to stretch a tyre onto a wheel with aerosol cans etc. I've tried about four times tonight with lots of deodorant and it just burns and doesn't explode.

Does anyone know a site (i've searched google a bit too with no result) or can anyone tell me what I could be doing wrong?

Oh and I'm trying to stretch a Kumho KH11 205/45/16 onto my 16x9 wheel.

Maybe there is still a seal between the wheel and tyre that is blocking the flame from the spray and not allowing it to explode.
In this vid, the guy steps on the tyre to break the seal and allow the pop.

yeah watched that one...he didn't use much spray, and yet it still burst up. My tyre, whether we use a lot or a little, just burns out and doesn't move whatsoever. We've tried to press it down, kick it etc...there's just no 'bang'.

Might need to use a more flamable susbstance.

I can't see what he uses on teh vid but a quick web search suggests using brake cleaner or WD-40 or even hairspray.

Otherwise i can't understand why it isn't working.

Haven't, but considering the effort we went to in order to spray inside the tyre, I don't think it will make a difference.

*Sighs* stupid tyre.

I think the problem is the fuel you are using.
It just doens't seem explosive enough since it is burning but not popping.

I think that could be the case, but I ended up using lighter fluid with no luck as well..

I'm also thinking that it might be because there's just so much gap between the edge of the tyre and the barrel of the wheel that there's no way it could blow up because it's too loose. *shrugs*

It could be that too.
Since there is no seal between the tyre and the wheel, the explosive fumes may just evapourate and leave you with no pop.

Could give the tyre tube method a go and if that fails, then go to the shop to get it done.

dude.... trying it 4 times isnt no where near enough times, remember with this method you have to "stretch rubber" therefore it needs to heat up, i said on msn to just keep going itll get..... itll get there, or! go out today and get some "start ya bastard" that should blow a space saver on a 9" rim!
