That's the bike tyre method, yeah looks pretty safe haha.
If I get bored one day this weekend I'm gonna try that...if not, one of the tyre shops I go to, to buy tyres, is going to have a bead blaster and it will be done in seconds. Bastards...

Just digging up Mrk_Mickey's thread, anyone suggest a company that'll fit stretched tyres? i went to my usual place and they just said no for legal reasons... but living out sticks doesnt give me to many options, anyone know of a major chain that will? Cheers
most companies wont stretch, they go by tyre size/wheel width charts, if something does happen, its on their heads... try offer them a cash job on the side, but remember, no receipt and you'll be liable for anything that "might" happen once the stretch is done, 99% of the time nothing bad will happen, except for rare undrivable stretch occasions
what size Tyre/wheel width are you planning on having?

thats what the guy said to me, i guessed he would, fair enough on there behalf.
those arnet even that much of a stretch, i dunno what the problem is... you should be able to do a cash job

yeah i know, i didn't want to go too crazy.
I might try cash job or another store. Is there anything that could go wrong if someone installs them that has no idea about fitting tyres like that? or is all the same just the tyre suffers different?
bringing this thread up again...
Tyres are currently down getting fitted (i hope). The only place that would stretch them locally, has never done it, and want some advice on how. (apparntly they knew i was coming in with tyres to stretch... what the!)
They obviously have all the normal tyre fitting gear, from what im reading they should almost be able to do it with just the bead blaster?
its a 205/45/17 over a 9" rim.
I suggested doing it with the rim face down? (read that somewhere on here? Dom maybe?)
Other then the bike tyre method, any suggestions i can give to the experts with all the gear on how to?

Tempe Tyres did mine for me, all they did was mount the tyre, stick the air pump on the wheel and move the tyre around until the air sealed. They did that with a 205 on a 9'' wheel too so there should be no trouble.
