Stuck wheel bolts :(

Does anyone have any voodoo incantations or magic that can help take off stuck fast wheel bolts? I honestly cannot get of the bolts off the front wheels, which need the tires to be replaced. Whoever torqued the bolts on last thought it would be a good idea to put them on tight enough so that there was never going to be a change to take them off...

Oh and did I mention the car is an unregistered VR6?

You could always try Loon's approach:

9 Inch Grinder vs Vr6 wheel

Then we cut the remnant in half along the bolt and smasked it off with a hammer.

The bolt then unscrewed by hand!!

They're on so tightly that I'm turning the wheel as I'm trying to undo the bolt. I also released my inner Balkan, that didn't help either and now there's a few more scratches on the rim

do up the other lugs nice and tight and try. otherwise go buy a nice big high tensile drill bit.

They all on tighter than the (insert simile here) and are not coming off... That drill bit idea does sound rather good at the moment.

I'll have another go now, and I'll try not to pull a hernia or something...

What have you been using to undo your lug nuts? See if you can loosen them by extending the handle with a pole. I haven't come across a nut/bolt I couldn't loosen when I've got like a metre long handle to untorque with.

I'm using the POS oem pipe thing.. I'll dig around the garage to see if I can get anything with a bit more leverage...

U just need a longer breaker bar and someone to hold the brake pedal while u undo it. If its hard to undo thats fine, if its rounded thats a whole lotta problem there!

Big torque bar should be the key. Nice long pole over the socket/OEM thing, with a bit of weight on it, should get it.

LOLLLLL DUDE COME ON!!! You absolutely have to grab something for more torque. That OEM thing is a POS; I don't even have mine anymore. Just grab yourself a long 17mm socket, a breaker bar, and a pole to put on the end of it. If it's long enough you can do it without straining those precious hernia's either

Ray you are a legend, that breaker bar did the trick! Unfortunately 2 bolts were almost rounded and will have to be replaced when I get the chance, hopefully tonight when I pick up my set of "new" rims.

Also there was some chalky yellow crap between the bolt threads which made the removal alot more difficult. I'll get the pics up soon.

i'm reminded of undoing the front axel nuts on my good buddy pete's MK2 GTI. in then end, we used a kingchrome 30mm socket with 3" extension, into kingchrome solid breaker bar, into 6 foot long steel square tube. all of my weight on it was not enough, and so had to get my shoulder underneath the bar and lift from the other side.

after a satisfying and very loud CRACK, and then 3-4 more, the nut came loose. but not without bending the breaker bar about 15 degrees, and putting a permanent 10-20 degree twist in the extension.
