Help with music playback through the RNS510

Hi all!

My parents have a first model 2009 MK6 GTI with the RNS510 system.

It has Bluetooth for phone calls, but NOT for music / device syncing such as ipad and iphone.

It DOES have the MDI and the AUX cable inputs though.

However, when he connects his ipad for music playback, it is REALLY soft in volume....

Any ideas??

I seem to remember that as an MDI firmware issue...
What firmware version is on the unit currently?
You can update the firmware via a USB device.

Are you connecting via the analogue AUX input, or an Apple dock connector->MDI cable?

There is an MDI input level option that can be changed.

But how can that MDI input level be changed? Where abouts is that setting?

I think its in the tone settings if I remember rightly You can set things like start up volume and all sorts Tells you in the RNS supplement that came with my car. Press tone button and start from there
He does need the proper Midi cable and not the charge only cable that came with the car
