Bluetooth microphone not working??

I have a factory installed rcd 510 with 9w7 bluetooth module in a 2010 Tiguan, I purchased used. For some reason the microphone isn't working. All the functions except this work. My phone connects, phone book appears, streaming works etc. But whenever a call is placed or received no one can hear me. Any clue why this is happening? Could the microphone have gone bad? I took the microphone out to inspect it and it looks undamaged. I have searched countless forums to no avail for a solution

Find someone with VCDS and do a scan of the car.
If the mic is faulty or disconnected, it will show an open circuit fault.

I had the same issue but mine was a kufatec fiscon unit. Have you tried disconnecting the cable that connects to the Bluetooth unit and reconnecting. This worked on mine but cannot guarantee the same for you.

I disconnected the Bluetooth module under the passenger seat and installed a new microphone. But the microphone is still not working. All of the other bluetooth functions work. Where would I be able to find a VCDS? (Is this the same thing as an OBD-II scanner?) Any clue what else could cause the microphone to not work? The cables are all connected behind the radio as well.

Can't really help you much there as far as VCDS users are concerned.
We have registers of local users in Australia but not in the US.
You'd have to try another forum that is US-based such as vwvortex.
Or try a local VW/Audi specialist mechanic.

Thank you again! Do you have any knowledge on why the mic may not be working? Have you ever heard of this issue?

Impossible to tell without doing a scan for faults.
