New Tiguan /RNS510

I'm picking up a new Tiguan on Tuesday it comes with Blue tooth and reverse camera , I want to install another RNS 510 same as I had in my golf If I buy a P RNS will it be plug and play or do I still need to have it coded for the GPS ?

hard to say, but I'm guessing you may have to have a small amount of re-coding to gain full access to MFD, steering wheel controls etc etc

From memory with mine, (Revision F) the steering wheel controls worked fine but there was some simple coding needed to get the mfd to display.

There's one way to find out... plug it in and see if it all works

The MY15 Tiguan already comes with RCD510 so potentially this may be plug and play with no coding.

It will be the same as the Golf Mk6 Highline/GTI/R if you're upgrading an RCD510 to RNS510 as Tiguan uses all the same parts.

Ive just bought the RNS 510 P version $949 delivered by the 26th from the UK SAT-NAV UK said it was a straight swap and every thing should work with no coding ,

The RNS will work without coding, however the integration with the MFD to display Nav instructions there will almost certainly be VCDS coding required.

The seller is good, I have bought 3 x RNS510s off him over the years. Currently have 1 from him the Amarok with no issues.

It arrived at 9am this morning and by 10am it was in and working easiest install after the golf V it was a piece of cake , I went to a friends house as he has the cable and program and since I changes it the reverse sensors are now auaables and by lunch all was done and it matches the car build date as its manufactured 10/06/2014 also now I can hear the reverse sensors as they were not working with the rcd510 but still not loud enough , does your radio cut out when reverse is engaged ? mine does now

RCD510 didn't mute when in reverse I had to turn down the radio the hear the beeps , but after I installed the RNS it mutes , but the reverse buzzer is still quite low , ive booked it in for Wednesday ,tried to tell me the have to down the vehicle history and send it to Germany A quick search on Google gives simple instructions how to increase the volume , using VCDS section 10 Buzzer volume .

the reverse sensor sounds can be changed in the RNS settings menu. also, I think there is an option to turn the music down when the sensors are on, again in the RNS510 settings menu - at least on mine I can.
