Is the MCU in the file i provided newer than the april's firmware? I don't know
I will have to give it a try tomorrow. GPS is now usable, loudness is working again, and i like much better the "old"interface, with the "3d" bar in the USB/Sd player.
I did notice that the going to the next song on USB was a lot quicker and it just felt better to use.
I much prefer the old interface also.

      • with the latest update Sandy supplied you would hut the next button and a tab world pop ip on the screen saying next and then it would go to the song.
It doesn't do that with the way I did it.

        • Just flashed the AS MCU, an as you said, going tto the next song on USB when using igo is working a LOT better.

          • I've discussed with AS and the old interface for SD should be returning in the next update.

To be clear what issues were you having with the latest update? My experience is that with the older updates, music still stutters while GPS is running, and the monsun.exe error came up a lot more often. For me, since flashing to the latest April firmware, music never stutters, and I've yet to run into a monsun.exe error. I've told them about the EQ issues, other than loudness not working it appears the "sub" adjustment does nothing. The issues seem connected and look to be just a small, easily fixed error.

It may be that it's just the 16bit MPU that make things a bit snappier. If that is the case I may ask AS to do a parellel release of 16bit MPU every time, if that's possible. Personally I didn't find too big of an improvement jumping from 16bit to 32bit.

I am to have test firmware for the song changing issue when in GPS this weekend.

I also convinced AS to stop any development on new features for now and focus solely on bugs, which will hopefully speed things up.

            • So far the issues I've had with the update, which weren't there before the update :

GPS fades both front speakers, and sometimes doesn't return them back to full volume after giving voice guidance.

Sub cuts in and out, also seems that the bass issue is back where its overpowering, my sub adjustment works ? Mind you I hace to have base at 0 to 2 and sub. At 0 to -2 otherwise it's crazy bass

Issues that still carry on from previous firmwares
My system still has lag when using GPS and SD playback, must be my unit. Delays on advance track & entering menus / selecting different inputs & volume adjustment delay still.

Haven't had the chance to look at SD/Nav playback with the April firmware, but various iPod related bugs, as well as the little spelling mistakes and things like that, as per the spreadsheet, still exist. Some of them are very minor, but make a difference in terms of the shine of the OS. Plus little usability tweaks (granular control of backlight, ability to choose what sources the SD button flicks through, display of track titles over BT etc).

I'll have a better play tomorrow with Nav/SD etc and see what else I can come up with.

                • I'm still getting the monsun.exe error. Had it about 5 times so far since the update. What is the cause of this error?? Why is it so common and persistent??

                  • I've had it 3 or 4 times now, on random tracks. Just with SD playback nothing else, its happened in the middle of a song, or advancing to the next. Weird how we the users get the error to happen but the techs can't.

                    • My 610 was pretty much ****ed with the April update hence why I am running a mix match setup now.

Same here! Hehe. GPS was unusable with the april's software. THe "mix match setup" is working pretty fine, i still had some monsun.exe errors, and the next/prev/search on the SD/USB player is still laggy, and it's even worse when the navi is in the foreground.

                        • So, used SD today. 32gb Sandisk Class 10 Ultra card (45mb/s read, so no speed issues), variety of FLAC/MP3/M4A from ~1min to 3 hours.

Issues I still have with the April firmware, with regards to SD playback:

                          Music Pauses on Reverse
~5-30s lag between changing tracks (worse with Nav running, but there is still a significant lag without Nav, regardless of track type or length, 192kbps m4as still lagged)
Lag with changing volume (worse with Nav running)
Slow startup with SD playback (significantly better than it was, but still takes anywhere from 5-30s to load)

No monsun issues though. Wasn't using directions though.

So pretty much all the same issues. It is better than it has been, but still not good.

This is ontop of all the other issues/missing features in the spreadsheet/I pointed out yesterday.

                          • I ran into a few issues while playing with my 610 tonight.
Thought I would try the green skin, changed it in display and nothing, no lights at all.
Change in the skin settings also to see if it would work and again nothing.
                            Thank **** I don't own a skoda.
Also when you hold the setup button on for a couple of seconds it brings up the touch screen set up.
Thing was I couldn't get rid of it until I shut it down.
Kept touching the cross hairs and it would just restart the process and it just went on and on and on.

                            • asa572, same issue with the green lights, they won't come up!

By the other hand, i found another bug, when you are playing videos from the sd card, whenever you shut down the unit and start it again, the video will start from the beginning. One weird thing is that the video player is working faster than the music player, it will seek/next/prev almost instantly.

                              • Yesterday, after two hours nav + SD use, the physical buttons, stop responding, so i couldn't turn off the unit and i had to remove the fuse.
