  • Installing an after market reverse Camera?

Firstly I am new to all this, but I found these on ebay and I am thinking of installing one myself.

Following its instruction, I will need to activate the rear view function using VCDS. I am just wondering if this would void the manufacturer warranty? Or is it like similar to jailbreaking which I could restore it back the "factory settings" before I take it back for service?

The dealers wouldn't have a clue. E.g my right rear door was not coded properly on delivery, the auto up/down wasn't coded for it (presumably this stuff is done pre delivery), so dealers themselves wouldn't even pick you changed one bit.

A dealer will only look for fault codes, not coding. So if its correctly coded then they won't even know. Plus its none of their business, you can install whatever you like as long as it doesn't break something else that you then go and try and claim a warranty repair for.
