I just got installed new rns-510 P and 9w7 kit...Voice control works for everything except navigation...
I can get into many but when i try tell address i getting answer " enter address by voice control is no available"...
Any idea?

I believe it's normal. It only works to a certain point as you have described. You must input destination address manually. I'm not sure if later updates may include voice control for destinations.

The early maps do not allow this. What map version do you have?
Make sure you have the latest v6 maps loaded.
Also they can be coded to not allow voice entry whilst moving, but you get a different warning.

I have already V6 maps...Shame on me...i tried while driving..I will try later and let you know..

If it works while stationary you can remove that restriction with vcds.

I will try stationary ..I also believe that restrictions is for my own safety

Yeah the idea is for safety, but it still allows you to mash at the keypad while driving, which is far more dangerous than speaking I would think....

this is right...For now, I am enjoying my new rns-510 and 9w7 Bluetooth kit I can live with that option on...If I need i will remove that restrictions...Just I wanted to be sure everything is fine...man, still reading manual

I just went and tried mine but can only get voice control with Media.

Navigation doesnt seem to have it but I thought it did.

When I press the top right button which activates it, It beeps in Media mode as per the manual but does nothing in Navigation mode.

Coding ??? Non operational in this B unit??? Has V6 maps and 4120 firmware

i getting navigation screen with "navigation" command...Even i can go for address but after that step nothing possible..maybe beause i did all of this while driving...
For your problem, maybe coding issue...Vw technician told me that very hard to get voice control working properly unless car factory fitted...He managed to install mine after two hours coding...

All the bits on mine ARE factory voice control works Just not on Nav

I just checked my nav in stationery..I can access POI but not navigation or address...Hmm, first thing to check with vw tomorrow...

The mic needs to be connected to the RNS not just he Bluetooth. If its not connected here then it won't work
Also pressing the steering wheel button won't work. You have to press in the right knob on the unit to activate voice on RNS

I can get the setup menu for voice control by pressing the top right button and it gives the tone and the help menu and asks for commands. However it only does this in the MEDIA setting IF I go to NAV and press that button nothing happens.

Should I just say NAVIGATE when I have it going as the manual is a bit vague as to which service it works in.

I sat there and did what I thought the manual said however I could have misunderstood
