  • RNS510 and Samsung Galaxy S4

Hoping someone can be of assistance, just received my shiny new phone and decided it was time to connect to the car's Bluetooth. Only to receive the error "Connection not possible" and "Non compatible handset".
Has anyone seen this before? Is there a resolution?

Are you able to find out the part number of your bluetooth (you might find the module under your driver seat) and post it here?

We've had similar issues with the S3 4G (whereas my old S2 never missed a beat in this regard) - I think it's because of the new Bluetooth 4.0 power saving features on the phone. I find that after turning bluetooth off on my phone and then back on, I can connect ok. I purchased a programmable NFC tag that does this for me and attached it to my key ring. http://tagsfordroid.com/

I upgraded my 9W7 unit to the latest version earlier this year which didn't help, maybe official Bluetooth 4.0 support will come on a newer module, or perhaps it's a problem with the Galaxy.

Thanks Ryan_R, that seemed to do the trick. Have spent some time playing with it and it seems like that first connection needed the BT on the phone to be just turned on. Now that the connection has been made they are talking together nicely.

Apologies to mods missed seeing the "all things bluetooth go here" topic.

I got an S4 last week as well and was able to connect to my RCD510 and 9W7. Calling, contacts, etc work as intended, however I am having trouble streaming music. The RCD510 shows the currently selected track and I can skip forwards/backwards, but the music does not play when I hit the play button.

I suspect it has something to do with the configuration on the phone, because pairing my Sennheiser MM 450 BT headset to the phone does the same thing. On my iPhone 4, hitting the play button on a connected BT device automatically starts the music app and plays the last track.

I used to have this, turned out to just be getting the settings right. i.e. I had 2 3rd party music apps on my phone and both were set to respond to BT controls, so I turned that off for one of the apps. I also found I had BT auto-play enabled on the RNS and the phone, so one would send a Play command, but when the other also sent a play command it was interpreted as Pause.

RNS-510 bluetooth and Samsung Galaxy S4

In my 2012 golf R, my iPhone 5 connected fine to the bluetooth, however with the NEW galaxy i can't get it going. The galaxy picks up the VW Bluetooth when switched on, then I try to pair but the code entering screen doesn't appear. What am I doing wrong here?

            Thanks guys, so bloody annoying!

Have a similar problem with my new CC. Also a Samsung phone, Ace, I get the similar messages. Works OK for a few days and then nothing.
