SD card error on RNS510

    SD card error on RNS510

    Got an RNS510, version B with 1120 Firmware.

    Am getting a message saying SD Card Error every time I try putting an SD card in the slot. Have tried a 2GB card as well as a 4GB and tried formatting in FAT, FAT32 and NTFS and it doesn't make a difference. SD card is one of those MiniSD to SD adapters but don't think thats the issue.

    Any ideas what's going on and why the RNS510 can't read the card?

    Would bet on a crook adapter Have you tried a different one I have several and one proved to be crook Also ONLY FAT32 works Buy a straight SD card, will only cost you a few bucks for a 4gig one. Update the firmware to a much later version for better operation

        The system wouldnt know the difference between a card and an adapter would pick up a fault if either was crook as you would expect
        I have a 32gig card in mine with 18gig of single tracks on it and it works OK

          Neither card appears to be crook - they both seem to work in every other piece of equipment I plug them into, whether its my PC, video camera or photo Camera - Only the RNS510 doesn't like the adapter, hence my earlier assumption.

            YEah have had troubles like that.

            Am having them ATM where two programs I have installed on my computer wont instal on a friends identical machine

            Murphy must be alive and well I think

            I was advised against using adapters unless absolutely necessary however and only use Sandisk ones and not the EBAY fakes either

            I wouldnt buy cards on line unless I bought from an authorised dealer 90% of Ebay ones are fake and have been caught with them and Motorola wireless earpieces. so no longer get them that way.

              I always get my memory cards from memorycity.com.au
              They only sell Sandisk and Kingston, ship from Sydney and are very well priced.
              Have bought a fake 32gb card from ebay once and found out all about the dodgy practice.
