Park Assist 2 - Aftermarket install

Are these systems getting better these days? I'm aware that with the original park assist systems you still ran a risk of gutter rash on the wheels. I assume by now that this risk has (almost) been eliminated.

The Assist system in the Superb will touch the gutter if you let it. I'd like to se it more refined before I use it again.

Park assist 2 controls throttle, brakes and steers for you. drive only needs to engage reverse gear.

AFAIK there is version 1, 1.5 and 2.

perhaps yours is an earlier version.

It will apparently brake somewhat but not in all circumstances according to the next page of the handbook

Mine is Park Assist 2 and cost a heap of money so had better be the best one.

Now you get the RNS 510 for free which is about what its worth as a mapping system

Yes it does But not very well on the only occasion I tried it Maybe I didnt postion car correctly but was about a foot from where I wanted it. and certainly not evenly between the two cars on either side

.....Or that it was 8 inches. Either way every time I've tested the system it's tried to touch the gutter.

Have never had this problem in the Tig.

The closer you are to the car in front of the spot you want (when driving beside it), the closer it will eventually park to the kerb.

Have experimented a few times and once a little too close with the side mirrors almost touching and still it didn't hit the kerb.

I agree, it is not probably worth the truble; and imagine after you've fitted, you find out that just one of your hardware's software wouldn't be compatable with the park assist2.
