OK - mine has turned up so I will be doing the Tiguan install soon.

As I may not be as technical as some of the gurus on the board - can anyone aim me to the gateway location in the Tiguan ?

The location of CANBUS gateway connector is behind the glove box on the passenger side for Tiguan.

From what I can see the NAV only display the CAN reported speed (actual, not the displayed speed). I can't see anywhere where the GPS reports a speed.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

            Found these videos:

Have just ordered mine, hopefully my installation isn't as difficult as the cab but at least I have instructions to follow.
Rubbish 0-100kph time in that video too

Autopolar FIS Advanced Install (Mk6 Golf 118TSI)

I assume this is the same installation for a Golf R? Has anyone installed one of these on an R?

Pretty sure all RHD Mk6 Golf's are the same as far as installation goes.

As per my post in the Mk6 thread, Miro (Transporter) had a look at my GTI this morning and suspects it is actually possible to get to the CAN gateway and install it via the dashboard (from the compartment to the right of the driver's knee). Trouble is it's a little tight in there, and you'd need to disconnect/reconnect the leads with one hand. Still, worth considering as an alternative to going in underneath the wipers.

I'll update when I get mine installed in a few weeks - if no-one else provides more info in the meantime.

I *think* you can *just* see the plug from down there so it might be possible for someone with very thin arms to give it a bash... that said, the whole wiper thing doesn't take all that long.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

The MK6 has definitelly less space there than MK5, but to get to the CANBUS is the same.
It takes less than 10 minutes in the MK5... http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...tml#post731533 but connecting the autopolar through that small place and positioning it there somewhere safe, going from the top maybe a better option.

Thanks for the pics, looks remotely possible that I might be able to do it from there.

The connector is quite hard to lift the tab and disconnect with one hand only, be ready for that.
