yeh i know that the remote is blue and white behind the h/u and it connects to the amp, but do i have to connect that to the actual loom from the car?
or is that only when you have a motorised antenna?

The trigger wire is only used to turn on an amp or electric antenna, if you don't have any of those things, you don't connect it to anything.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

assuming you are connecting an amp use a test light to ensure the wire is on when the ignition is turned on and no power when the ignition is turned off,
you hook it to the accessory wire behind the loom

where is the wire coming from? if its from the car loom, use a test light as others have suggested to determine its actual purpose...

if its from the HU loom it will either be for a electric antenna, car kit mute or amp remote wire... mabe consult the user manual either in hardcopy or online to confirm?

also a good idea is to slighly extend the amp remote wire slighly so it can be easily acressed under the dash later on when you want to add an amp - saves you ripping apart your dash for just one wire...

            just a suggestion, goodluck
