Interesting... well as I say my S3 on Jelly Bean has no issues connecting to my ANS-810 with phonebook download. Perhaps this is something that a newer RNS-510 firmware might fix?

Alternatively maybe this will help, although their issue is not exactly the same:

I have HW H41 and SW 4020. That link doesn't help, thanks, because the RNS510 refuses to connect to the phone, saying it is incompatible.

Happy to report that this issue has been solved for my Note 2. The RNS510 won't allow adding a new user if another phone is connected. I turned off my wife's bluetooth and my Note 2 connected as it's supposed to. My mistake, not the car's. Not sure if this is relevant to the S3, though.

I thought this might be the case initially, but I have removed the previous iPhone profile and that phone is now no where near the car.

Car needs to go to the dealer, so will ask them. But at this rate will have to sell the new phone and revert back to iPhone. The bluetooth not working with the car is a major deal breaker.

So is there a fix to this because I'd started experience problems on my S3 too running 4.0.4 and trying to connect to the RNS510 on my Tiguan. It's driving me nuts as I never had any issues with my old iphone so now I can't receive any hands free calls which was the whole point of bluetooth!

I also can't delete any old phones on the RNS - surely there must be a way of doing that?

u need to delete old phone profiles via the maxidot.
once deleted, u must perform a new "phone search" using the maxidot again. the car must not be moving when performing the search.
ensure the phone is "visible". just because the phone's bluetooth is "on", it doesn't mean its visible to other devices during searches.
once found, pair, and away u go.

Any progress on this? I've upgraded from an S2 (ICS 4.0.3) to S3 4G (JB 4.1.1) on Telstra and while my phone connects ok and the phone book shows up in the MFD and bluetooth audio works, it will keep disconnecting and reconnecting, and then eventually won't be able to reconnect.

Majorly annoying considering how well the S2 worked, it would even read out text messages as a phone call through the car.

All seriousness. I had an S3. No probs connecting it. Just hated the phone. iPhone now. No dramas either.

No sorry ... don't have this problem with my S3 running 4.1.1.

But mine's not 4G. Maybe that might have something to do it for some strange reason.

Can you upgrade to 4.1.1 (I'd be interested in doing this.... WHY did I buy one pre upgrade)

Or you might have to upgrade your BT module unfortunately.

                          FWIW, my 9W7 is a 7P6035730L from carsystems.pl

Mine is only a couple of months old from carsystems.pl, 5K0035730E - one of the first with AVRCP controls.

Strange how some can't connect at all, mine connects but doesn't stay connected, and then yours is fine.

Thanks for the links MK3 but not using RSAP. I haven't checked out the 2nd one yet though.

                                You poor misguided soul

Try downloading the free app "A2DP volume" on the Play Store and see if it fixes your BT woes.

It is a bit of an unfortunate rSAP issue for Samsung, but all devices have their quirks. If you spent the time to get used to Android you'll see there's so many things it can do that the iPhone can only dream of doing
