I am running 3820 with a premium bluetooth unit, and mostly use A2DP streaming to listen to music from my phone. However it seems the track time display is incorrect - clock advances 2 seconds for every second played.
Does the newer SW fix this?
It's probably more of a bug between your phone and the BT module, I think it'd be the same with any RNS firmware. But it's worth a shot.

It's not IMPORTANT, but it would be nice to have it fixed, so I was wondering if the 41xx firmware fixed it, that's all...? I don't want to go and load a new FW if it's not going to fix the only problem I have with my RNS...
Hehe sorry didn't mean to be facetious. Is the track a constant bitrate file or vbr?

        • I had the same problem with the time being out. firmware didn't fix it. So instead, I removed my head from my ass and got rid of the iphone. new phone works fine.

          • Updated my RNS510 to latest firmware (4120) couple of days ago and now my car battery is completely dead. Very weird as I've updated it before without issues and no one else in here is reporting any battery drain issues?

Thinking I'll just downgrade back to the old firmware I was using unless anyone has any other ideas?

The part number of my RNS510 is 1T0035680D

Hmm ok maybe that was a red herring. Maybe it wasn't the firmware upgrade but was something to do with the bluetooth issues I am/was having which now after the flat battery seem to be fixed??

Hmmm. So it's an iPhone issue then?

                Interesting. Any particular iPhone?

Sorry man was having a bad day yesterday. It's cbr. On vbr files the rns says VBR and doesn't display a track time.

                  • Tried to test with my phone but alas it doesn't support AVHCP v1.3 or above as HTC decided to use a proprietry BT stack rather than Google's Android stack which does. So mine just shows BT Audio. Was hoping that the recent upgrade to Jellybean would have resolved that but no dice.

                    • Try using PowerAmp or PlayerPro (free versions are available) from the app store. You'll need to go into the Headset settings for each app.

not sure TBH, ust my experience. however, I had an iPhone 4. kept the iOS up to date, but that never seemed to fix it. it didn't worry me, the music always played and phone synced etc.

                          Same here, on all counts
It's a minor annoyance is all...

They still rely on the bt stack on the handset so just show 'bluetooth audio' in the rns and Mfd if handset is not avhcp version 1.3 or higher.

                            • Hi Guys. I'm after some help. I'm looking at updating the firmware and maps in my Octavia RS. I've downloaded the updates from the link in this thread, but I can't access the hidden menu to check that it will work and not screw up my car. It's an MY11 build. Is it going to be relatively safe or am I paying with fire not knowing?

                              Thanks for your help.

As long as you have the map disk you can go ahead. There is no additional risk not knowing the current firmware.
