  • No problem.
Ive seen them with all the afermarket units Ive fitted . You can clear the codes but they will come back.
Doesnt affect the operation Ive found at all.

The advantage of the Ross Tech active cable is the other features available IF you want to check, modify, fault find etc.
Off topic but an example..my sunroof now shuts if I left it open after locking the car and it rains etc

    • My unit has problem whit touch panel. It is not accurate as it was before. I have tried to re calibrated it but with no luck. Calibration won't go through and I have to shut off whole unit at I can exit the calibration. I have taken the unit out of the car, but it did not help. Is touch panel permanently broken, or whether a new software help?

      • Hi all,

I updated my ANS from M99 to M140 a couple of days ago. I could not care less about the OBD function but here are some other comments:

+ unit seems to be a little quicker
+ SD folders can be used now, i.e. no more automatic return to the first folder
+ OPS works also with navigation
+ start and loading screen picture can be chosen (modern version of the oem logo included)
+ radio button switches between FM1, FM2, FM3 and AM

        - OPS switches to camera (which I don't have) if reverse gear is selected twice, i.e. if one has to move forward a little while parking. How could they mess this up??? This used to work just fine in M99...

        • There are two MCU files ANS510AS.130806.m1.D0 and ANS510AS.121123.m1.D1, have use the correct one ?
If you don't have rear camera you have to use the m1.D1.

          • Yes, I have used the correct one and the correct one is D0 (if the update instructions are correct). I have the camera wire as described in the update instructions:

            6. Current firmware releases are distributed with two types of MCUs. One version of the MCU
ends in ‘D0’ while another ends in ‘D1’. The D0 MCU is for those units shipped with a brown
“back conn” wire for the reverse camera that comes out of the iPod / USB adapter. D1 MCU
is for those without this wire. This wire provides switched power for reverse cameras. If you
are not sure if you have this wire or not, but you are experiencing reverse camera-related
issues, it’s possible you have the wrong MCU – just try flashing the other version, no harm
            will come to your unit.

My original factory installed M99 version was a T0 though. I am not sure if there are some odd T version units around too...

            • You don't loose anything to give a try the D1 MCU. There is also the option to disable OPS in the main menu. In the old firmware M99 wasn't doing anything but I haven't try with M140

              • Maybe I will try the D1 at some point. I don't want to disable OPS since I am using it. I just don't want the camera screen.

I still believe it is a bug though. The OPS works fine when switching to reverse once and staying with it. It is only the second time switching to reverse (i.e. if I need to move forward a little while parking) that pops up the camera screen... I see no reason whatsoever why it would have been designed to work like that.

                • Yes you are right, I don't have OPS nither RVC and when i was on reverse pop up camera was on.
With the D1 MCU its OK for me

                  • I've ordered the ans 810 already and have had some dialogue with sandy but I have some questions. Reading this whole thread was a long slog!

the cars it's going in is a uk 2011 passat b7

id like to update the firmware when it comes, it seems the latest is the speediest and most bug free. I'll probably pay up with sandy for that but what if the device goes EOL soon?

my car has front and rear parking sensors and I want the display on the head unit. Most of the bug talk is around ops. In layman terms is there a special software to run to only see the front and rear sensors? I've no intention of putting a camera in.

When we travel longer distances I put those DVD players in the back for the kids. They support video in and one does video out. I'd like to run the right cables to the rear floor well or centre console to allow me to connect the rear players and control the DVD from the head unit. I guess that's possible? Probably need to order some extra cables though.

what maps will come on the sd card for the Navi? Is it worth upgrading?

                    think that's it for now.....

                    • One thing maybe to contribute is that it's possible to connect a Raspberry Pi to this head unit that can run full XBMC or a PC(Linux) if you like. That opens possibilities and it runs on 5v and is the size of a credit card

Tried running a raspberry PI and whilst it worked its not a good solution, the 5V power out from a cig lighter is very flakey and not enough to fully power the PI so it kept resetting itself.. if you could get a more stable supply it would prob work but its too much like buggering around...

As for the post above regarding front and rear parking sensors they will just display anyway I believe.. my rear ones only work when in reverse so have no idea how the front ones work (assume they will just display the car on screen when you are close to something having engaged reverse first maybe?? either way the whole OPS thing is a minor pain but if you give it a few seconds between gear changes its usually fine...

Def worth upgrading the maps, bit of a pain but its easy enough done, just back up the original SD card first so you can always roll back..

As for your dvd question for the kids, sounds easy enough, but as you are already behind connecting a video out feed, why not just connect another one at the same time? the ANS has 2 video outs for head rest monitors.. run one down each side of center console and up to the top of the seat, easy done... and better than having a lead go between the 2 screens...

Its only AUD 25 so don't worry too much and get the support from Sandy. According to my experience people at Audiosources don't speak English very well.

The OPS works fine without camera or "special software". I just installed the D1 version and now the camera screen stays away as it should (It is basically wrong firmware for my unit but that is just normal Audiosources software engineering and since I don't have the camera it makes no real difference)

Mine came with iGO8 + old maps. Just go to navitotal.com (or other similar site) and put together whatever software + maps package you want. I am using iGO Primo 2.4 + Navteq Europe Q4/2012 maps at the moment.

                              • Hello to all.

I have a quick question and I hope to find some help here. I´ve ordered ANS610 with 3G and I am not able to get it connected.

I am from Peru and have tried different APN settings found on forums with two different internet operators and I only get Error:679 and Error:633

Does anyone have experienced those kind of errors? Can anyone with no problem with 3G post the settings?
Maybe I am formatting wrongly the text input... or can give a clue of whats going on....

                                Sorry for the bad english.
