I have a video of it. Not working rear view camera - YouTube I had exoticars install it for me, so I don't know the full details. It does flip out when I change to reverse as you can hear the motor and see the image when it runs on the car battery. When I turn the engine on, it stops working.

It has been like this for a year now because I thought it was my head unit that was why I wanted a DNS810 that keeps getting delayed too. But if there are other people with the same problem it might have been the camera after all this time. Has anyone else with replica that DkN sells have any non issues or issues with their unit?

I still think it's the wiring. After you turn on the engine have you checked to see if the camera is still physically popped out behind you?

As I said when the camera is shown to be working without an issue with ignition on, problems at other times with displaying image can only be wiring or head unit. The camera's job is very simple, turn on when power is supplied, turn off when power is not. The rest is controlled by the wiring / head unit.

Audiosources does not have iPhone 5 leads yet - I hope they will make these too but at the moment it's not a priority and I don't know when they will do it.

I'm pretty sure its not the wiring. The camera pops out when the engine turns on and the reverse gear is selected of course. I will make a video of it. As I said exoticars installed it for me. They have installed many genuine cameras. I will make a video of it afterwards to show you how. It works sometimes (i.e. once every 100 times) with the engine on but sometimes it doesn't. Once I get my hands on the 2nd batch of the DNS I will be more certain. In the mean time Sandy don't worry about it too much. It has been a year without it working so I can wait a month more. I will post a video of it with the engine on later today. Although I am having problems with opening the boot recently because it won't close properly sometimes in the recent month.

Just checked the DNS group buy. Doesn't look like a good start. Yeah it might be my current head unit not the camera because it behaves like how raymond describes it. It works in "accessory" mode but not when the engine on. Weird.

I just got the dns 810 and it has so many bugs. The sd card want play songs all the time. I can't get the blu tooth to sinc with my galaxy s4..the rear camera spent work.. .then the fm radio won't work after selecting sd..
so I will send it back. Since you guys own a ans series. Should I order that? Or look for another manufacturer like eonon?
Does the ans have bugs like I described in the dns?

Going from ANYTHING to an EONON would be jumping into a very hot fire. Read the threads through the audio section about them.
I don't think anyone was happy with them.
You get what you pay for.

Spend a grand and get an RNS510 and while the Satnav is crap the rest is ok and all integrates with the car

Do you mean the OPS screen or door status screen? Door status screen will show BMW picture regardless of your settings but the parking sensor screen should work according to your car model selection.

Hi there,

I've read through this entire thread (which took quite some time I can tell you!) and I wanted to check something about the new ANS810 I've bought. The vendor (iceboxauto in the UK) assured me that I will get a unit flashed with the latest firmware, and the BSP matches that reported as latest on this thread, but the rest doesn't. My numbers from the menu are:

BSP: ANS510AS.612
MPU: ANS510AS.M136
MPEG:
Servo:
MCU: ANS510AS.130806.m1.D0
BT: 20120512
MST701: 7.0.098
Region code: 9

I can find no report of a M136 version - is that newer than the M99 by virtue of the number being bigger? Why does no-one else seem to report it? Also, the 130806 seems higher than that reported as current. Should I be worried?

I do have a couple of odd issues I can't seem to get past. Firstly, when going into reverse, my audio cuts out until I go out of reverse gear. The screen stays on the navigation, but no sound. I've disabled OPS in the menu, and it didn't seem to help. I don't have OPS or a reversing camera fitted at all. Are there any other settings I might need? Could this need a different firmware? Second, when playing music from SD card, the sound seems to cut out and jump every so often. It's not constant, but once every few minutes, it just dies and then starts again. Any thoughts?

Eeek! I just did a reset to defaults from the menu, and after restarting the radio lights no longer light up! Also, the MFD shows the audio as "OFF", doesn't display radio or anything, and the car information display shows no readings (0rpm, 0kph, -40C temperature, etc). Help please?

Ok, removing the car battery for a couple of minutes appears to have gotten the CAN bus connection going again

Would still appreciate it if anyone could give a response to my other questions on Firmware, audio while reversing and SD card though!

Szymon, reverse gear will mute audio. Simple as that.

Regarding other features ANS series is far from bug free but it works OK most of the time. OPS for example does not work if GPS is in use, RDS functions on radio are a joke, switching between GPS display and radio/sd card/cd may or may not work etc.
