Sorry I haven't checked this thread as often, I've been pretty flat out with sorting out the new DNS series group buy lately.

Someone posted about the same issue just a few pages back and I've explained that it is a DVD drive issue.When I have time I really need to make an FAQ section in the first or second post.

Just curious, with this unit, can you plug your phone/iphone/samsung etc into the usb and still have connectivity with it and the unit or do you have to use the MDI?

The ANS has its own USB and iPod connections, the MDI will be redundant.

I have an ANS-710. Is anyone aware of a graphic equaliser / crossovers etc. on this unit? I can only find bass, mid, treble and sub in the tone menu. Which makes me think. Those not running a sub, I am curious if the is a non-defeatable low pass crossover in these because I cant find a way to dis-able the subwoofer output. Any ideas?

Is the unit fitted in the Touareg2? If yes, I've found the info that the unit is not suitable for the Touareg2. We had similar and many other problems with ours.

Your English is OK.
It looks like you didn't wired it up properly. What car did you installed it in?
The RVC needs power from the reverse light to work properly and the video cable connected to RVC video IN.

I have a Jetta mk6 2012. Im using the power from reverse light and video cable its ok too, because everything works fine when the key is in position 1 (before start the engine). Thanks for your help

Does this unit have a fuse? Have you checked this?

Wholesalers are really not there to provide tech support to end users. The traditional distribution model is manufacturer > wholesaler > retailer > customer. If you shortcut the process and buy further up the supply chain you may get a cheaper price, however you'll usually pay for it in other ways (i.e. support, etc).

You can sometimes save yourself some $ doing this, however there are times when you are better off paying extra for a reputable reseller who supports the product and customer. I don't think that it is unreasonable for a wholsaler to ask you to return the goods for a replacement. You would normally have to do this in a retail environment too (take it back into the store). The wholesaler will have to pay for the return freight to the manufacturer so unfortunately everyone pays when there is a faulty product that gets shipped from a factory.

The cost to the distribution chain for a faulty product can be quite high and sometimes it's not worth returning the goods and just binning them (not saying this is the case here).

Anyway, back to my issue, the fuse was actually fine. It turned out to be a bad motherboard. They shipped me a new motherboard and i just had to do the wiring and soldering myself. After all, the unit is working like a champ now!

You might get an Audiosources distributor coming (kind of) your way in the USA soon

Good to hear your issue was resolved. If you get a responsive sales rep with Audiosources things are generally ok, though sometimes they may not always pay attention to one-off retail customers. Having said that, if you don't have a reseller in your area there isn't much you can do, plus there's always the possibility that your local reseller might be too clueless to help anyway... Here's to hoping that Audiosources will choose their distributors carefully.

I have the same problem too! but non ANS unit. Did you buy the rear view camera from audiosources too?

The problem is most likely with power source or the relay - did you try to connect the camera to a known permanent 12V source (maybe even from an external adapter) to see if there is signal? The camera will either be faulty and not turn on, or simply turn on when power is supplied and turn off when power is cut off. It does not detect any other signals or gears by itself and choose whether to turn on or not...
