  • Bluetooth for MK6 music playback

my mk6 didn't come with Bluechip, hence i wanna add a bluetooth module simply for music playback.
i don't need phone features at all. just music.

which module or brand is cheapest?
the 9w7 was a popular one, but that was like 300-400 for a plug and play module.
i can't justify that, is there a cheapest alternative?

$300 is about the going rate for a 9W7 bluetooth module (which does the talking stuff as well, as do all of them). If you do decide to get one make sure the code starts with 5K0 and not 7P6 so you get the latest version & features.

Otherwise if you're really lucky you might find one of the old 9W2 versions (which aren't made any more, so perhaps a second hand purchase) which I believe had A2DP but no premium calling features such as the downloadable address book. 9W3 had those features but no music streaming so avoid that.

    Otherwise your "cheapest option" is:

(and of course you'll need an approved car mount for it)

Wow....300+ is quite dear. I did try the 3.5mm cable method, the quality was really really bad. Is 9w7 plug and play? Does it need vagcom?

Some parts of it will work but you really need VCDS so that it integrates with the rest of the car
