  • Remote central locking Golf GTI mkIV

    Hi guys,
I would like to add keyless remote entry to my gti mk4. I want to use a flip style 2 button key with transponder chips. My question is what module do I need to add to my system, that would be compatible with programmable keys. I have searched the internet, but only found aftermarket systems. However I think that the operating frequencies would be different to the progammable keys for sale. I am a novice to VW's, so hopefully I havent confused everyone with my rant.
    Thank you all in advance.

I've also tried to research this, I was told that the mk4 boras module/remotes may work but I've come to the conclusion that an aftermarket system will be quicker and cheaper to install.
    Still looking into it........

This could be an expensive add on!! Never seen it done myself but guessing you will need convenience module that has remote operation then you will need remotes and folding flip out key with immobilizer built in which all will need to be coded to suit. I'm aware of a votex kit that was available as a genuine accessory these hook up to original wiring and allow window roll up and down function.

This is exactly the article i used to do mine. works perfectly sunroof and windows close when pressing the lock button. Was quite easy to do as well. I used a different system i found on ebay for about $60 delivered.
