  • what bluetooth is this in my car?

just bought a used superb and it has an RCD510 in it.

i can make phone calls but can't seem to stream music over bluetooth, when i press the "Media" button it shows the "BT-Audio" button greyed out. My phone says it has connected to a bluetooth headset, but no music plays

the book that came with the car says "Bluetooth Gateway for Volkswagen" and looks like this:

on top of the steering wheel there is a Parrot brand mic that looks like this - it is sitting there loose - maybe they didn't install it properly:
    .

any advice on what bluetooth unit this is and whether or not it can stream music would be great!

    Thanks in advance..!

ok im 99% sure it is a mobridge with parrot

i had trouble with my android (desire/SGS2) syncing/playing music but i see there is a firmware update - i'll try this soon...!

yup its a mobridge unit. the earlier units had lots of trouble connecting to android phones, later software updates now fixed this problem.

I dont remember being able to play music over bt with that kit though? Maybe im wrong?

If you've looked up the mobridge website you'll also find software and firmware to update your phone module manually.
