Columbus Bluetooth phone application disappeared

We have a Skoda Superb Elegance (only had it a few weeks) with factory Bluetooth. All of a sudden the phone application disappeared from the steering wheel controls and the phone button on the Columbus unit does nothing but mute the sound system. A bit of research found a similar situation mentioned on a Brit site. Resolution was simple enough...unplug the Bluetooth unit for 20 seconds or so then plug in again and it worked again.

My question is; has anyone else experienced this? Wondering if it is a one of or recurring problem?
