  • RNS 510 CD/DVD Not Ejecting <HELP!>

    Hi Guys,

I installed an eBay RNS 510 in my Golf this afternoon and there is a CD or DVD inside that will not eject. Resetting the unit makes no difference.

It's suggested on other forums that a force eject can be done from VCDS - can anyone confirm this? I'm going to need help from a kind soul with VCDS anyway to code my steering wheel controls.

    Hoping someone can help...thanks.

Hi happy to assist with VCDS coding. Its possible the unit it is 'transport' mode which would lock the drive I think? Not too sure however if it came down to it I could pull the RNS510 apart and the drive should have a manual eject mechanism.
PM me to work out availability.

Well I've pulled the DVD drive out and there's a European Map DVD in it. But no way to manually eject (done by a motor).
I'll try again in the morning while the unit is plugged in

All working now. When I pulled the drive out there was a small circuit board that was dislodged (see below). I believe this may be the disk insertion sensor. Pushed it into correct position and then reinstalled drive. Disk ejected perfectly after that.
I think my unit was dropped by Customs as there was damage to one of the corners

By the way, a big thanks to kamold who did the coding for me this morning.
