Worked for mine too. Mid 2010 GTi. Just used windows disc burner thing that is part of Windows 7.....worked as in the video.
I held down the reset buttons <>* and inserted disc. Went from there, no key in as per other peoples posts.
Thanks guys....strictly for the passengers of course.
BTW it was a mid 2010 factory installed RNS-510 (sat-nav unit). Saw this thread a while ago but got confused after reading about the day/night button etc....but works fine in aussie versions using the reset buttons.

I am happy to report that this "Berto" file worked on my MY11 RNS 510. Pressed the eject, star and setup buttons together, then inserted the disc and followed the prompts. Went for a drive and voila it worked. My passengers can now view DVD's on the move. Only down side was I noticed dust on my screen so had to dust that off LOL

i don't have the "*" star button that a number of people r mentioning here to reboot the unit. i've got < and >, but no *.

The mic button. It's always which-ever one is next to the eject button.

well....i've burnt the cd, and went through the steps.
its seems to have done its "magic" successfully.
now to wait for the drive to work tomorrow morning to see if it actually works.

software updated loaded correctly, even got the "success" message but if i put in DVD and drive off - screen goes blank with normal message about screen not being displayed. Any suggestions?

I had the same deal with the "berto" file but the "mycd" file worked perfectly.
Not sure if it's older units/firmware that is having an impact?

Try both images and see if they work

Got this working on my MY12 Ed35 GTI this evening. Took me a few goes to burn the file onto the CD correctly from my MacBook. Once I got that sorted it was a breeze.

Ok so I finally did this, and the Berto one worked well in the Tiguan (MY 11.5).

The "MyCD" version gave me a "Software downgrade error (010304)". Basically the error message was the software I was installing was the same version as what's already installed. I rebooted the RNS-510, then tried the Berto version.

That worked perfectly.
