The Bluetooth model I have isn't compatible with the RNS-510. I think I have to order this one :

VW BLUETOOTH for iPHONE - PREMIUM NOT FISCON 1Z0035729B on eBay (end time 14-Jun-11 22:51:13 BST)

The seller tells me it's compatible with my MY08 Golf and the RNS-510

Ok I have bluetooth in my GTI as an option so I should be fine then...

Just on a side note to all those who bought of the Lithuanian seller, did you make a crazy bid and he come back with a counter offer?

Mine is the proper VW Bluetooth, it's just an older version so not compatible. What model Bluetooth do you have ?

If the problem is firmware related which it sounds as though it might be then it must be compatible with earlier firmware versions. If you can find out what version the current bluetooth module you have will work with then you could still sell the old bluetooth module to someone with an earlier model RNS / MFD and recoup a couple of $'s towards the new kit. Just a thought anyway

I haven't fitted the replacement screen yet but I went for a drive out to Wisemans Ferry yesterday and the unit had trouble recognising our location on the map and turned itself off about 8 times. I reset it twice but it kept occuring. A little worried to say the least !!
