How hard is it to upgrade the RCD310 to a RCD510 in the new Polo? Will everything (Display and steering controls) still work OK?

You should ask, if it was done before? I didn't see the thread about it, but if the radio has the same dimensions, then it should fit and work.

go ahead , Rcd510 must be OK on your newPOLO .But password for rcd510 is needed.

Hi , I dont have the polo but I have the MK6 77tsi and I have upgraded from the RCD-310 to the RCD-510 myself.

It was very simple just be careful clipping off the front beazel, you will need a torx kit to take the 4 screws out but the wiring was all the same as they use the universal plug. I spent more time taking the front off than the time to connect and screw it back in.

Oh another thing which I found. When I first turned on the RCD-510 its language settings restore back to German so its easy to follow the pictures in the manual to change to english.
