I just ordered a new iphone 4 today, albeit it will take a week or more before I am able to take delivery. Has anyone amongst you taken deliver yet? What I really want to know is one simple question: does it work via your car's blutooth?

Have been using the iPhone 4 as an audio source (via MDI) to an RNS510 in a 2010 build Tiguan for the last few weeks, and it works very well. Have noticed occasionally the MDI won't update the song display when the next song starts in shuffle mode, but when changed manually everything works perfectly. Charging works correctly also.
No bluetooth in this car so I can't attest to whether that works or not sorry. No problems however with the several year old RNS-E (Audi-derived) navigation system bluetooth link in one of my other cars.

The new iPhone4 works fine with the Pioneer unit we have in the Multivan. I haven't tried plugging it in directly for media playback or charging but will get round to that.
So it seems if you were able to run a 3GS on iOS 4.0 you should be right and from what I understand the newer revisions of the CAN BUS & RNS do indeed play nice.

A minor but annoying thing.--------------------------

Same as OP, anyone able to confirm if iPhone 4 works with factory Bluetooth (77TSI)? Took a look at some threads for 3G but wasn't sure if the newer models were different.
Also, does the factory Bluetooth use the MFD or do I need to look at units from the stickied thread?
EDIT: Never mind, sounds like the VW bluetooth options aren't that great. I'll start looking into a Skoda or Fiscon.Last edited by RedSky83; 11-08-2010, 08:10 PM.

Just tested my iPhone 4 with the MDI in a MK6 and it works fine. I have however not been able to get my 3G iPhone to work. On the phone it keeps comming up with some error about not being compatilble and the headunit says no media player is detected. Very annoying

Sorted now. The error still comes up but if you just leave you phone plugged in it will start talking to the headunit.
BTW sound via the iPhone and iPod is pretty pathetic. USB stick with the same music on it = 100% better, not sure if its the cable or what.

Ideally you want line out from your ipod/iphone etc (audio hasn't gone through the amplifier yet) passed into your line-in port and then amplify that signal once.
... hopefully this is what the MDI ipod thingy does in the golf I am looking at buying.Mk6 Golf R, DSG, 5dr, Rising Blue, + Leather, ACC, Dynaudio, BT, MDI + APR Stage I ECU.
