Kufatec and RNS510 voice control?

Did you read all the posts above??
As Mav has said- you will need to upgrade your firmware to one of the later variants. If yours RNS510 is unchanged from 2008 it will not support voice control.
Kufatec kit is incompatible with 2660 firmware so you have to choose to either Upgrade and loose your bluetooth kit or not upgrade and do without voice control.
Why dont you hassle Kufatec and if enough people do it it may speed a software update for the kufatec kit that may be compatible.

The add on product is just the OEM microphone and cable for those who dont have it installed already.

Voice control is a new feature of RNS510s with recent firmware - you can control the RNS510's actions by voice command, including the phone screen. Nothing to do with the phone that you have connected.

As Maverick says, the Kufatec mic won't work for voice control of the RNS510, but what you can do is have a VW mic fitted (they're cheap off eBay) as well as the Kufatec mic - wire the VW mic to the RNS510, leave the Kufatec alone, and then you can voice control the RNS510 including "Phone home..." style commands. Once the call is active, the Kufatec mic will kick in and all will be good...

The way I read it, The firmware has to be upgraded in the rns510... But then again why was the mic allready installed and connected..

How do I find out what firmware I have now?

I had to change a setting with VAGCOM so I could ascertain it from the head unit. I think it was setup I was holding down.
