It's not how bright the screen is it's the type of screen that's affected by sun light

Car PCs are cool, and I've been reading that Android could be a popular choice for future devices - here's a basic example I came across last week:
Parrot Asteroid to drive music, Android from your dash this October (video) -- Engadget

Just need one in double-DIN size
Some say he was the Stig... all we know is that he drives a VW Transporter.

Hey gjuu, wondering how you're powering your screen?
        Off your M2-ATX?

yes - i always have with no dramas, did it like that in the one i had in my E30 too.
but what i did in the E30 was add a relay in line so when the aux power is cut the screens turns off ... so it doesn't matter what you have the shutoff delay on the M2 set at....the screen shuts off, the amp shuts off so you would never know it is still running.
In the polo i just have the shutoff set to immediate - it only take 20 secs or so to return from hibernation

I am in the process of looking at a built in android tablet .... but very few of the 7" ones are a dash friendly size...but on the positive side i have already thrown together a very basic carPC app...just music, video and navigation for now...
