RNS510 - Upgraded to Map V10

Just upgraded the RNS510 map to V10 (Map Version HDD 8554). I've heard this is the latest and probably the last map ever for the RNS510.

Purchased from Eurocarupgrades for $175 (normally $250). DVD came and is a legitimate source and worked as expected. I've heard other websites aren't trustworthy.

I orginally went down the RCD330 route with Android Auto, which was an easy plug and play unit. Although the biggest turn off was the lack of integreation with the other featutes of the car. Clmatronic, MFD etc. And the biggest gripe was the complexity with getting the OEM rear view camera working. RCD330 now happily lives in the other VW car.

So how recent is this Map update Roku?
Also the time taken for the update to finish from start ?

it normally takes about 15 - 20 minutes for a map update. The update can be done while you're driving etc. (Unlike FW updates)

I have installed more maps and firmware upgrades to RNS510s than most here.
All I was doing was elaborating on your response (which was the same link as the first post), providing some real world experience, and after diving into the web site link, noting that the seller makes a quote of "Installation time (h) 0.5" which is VW tech language.
I was just commenting that the info seems to be/may have been lifted directly off a VW Tech document.

Could well be as its a genuine part and I took it that it takes the buyer half an hour for the map to install. Incidentally their hourly charge is $180 which is on the receipt of the work I had done. You are probably aware that I also had a fair bit to do with the 510 away back from 2010 onwards. (Dif user name then) Whatever its the last map anyone will get for that unit and never saw VW advertise it and prev one was $575 when I asked the dealer

I just bought the V10 from Euro but I cannot get it to load. I insert the DVD and it grunts and groans like it is reading ok, then says "please insert the DVD" or similar. I hit ok, but it reverts to the same message and appears to do nothing more.
Anyone got a suggestion?
RNS510 with 5238.90.5.5 firmware upgrade.
DVD says CY - V10 - for RNS510.

The RNS are notoriously fickle with disks.
Might need to try a lens cleaner disk (remember those?) or have a look at the SDCard tool which allows you to copy the maps onto an sdcard, then boot from a custom DVD:

If you can get into the secret menu (press and hold setup for several seconds - up to 10 seconds), then it should be able to tell you. Otherwise you'll need someone with access to VCDS

I have just bought the V10 DVD from Euro but cannot get it to load in my Tig series 1.
RNS510 HW-Version H41 with updated firmware 5238 (which loaded quite easily).
The map DVD keeps saying "please insert the navigation DVD"
Any help appreciated
