Pin code missing - VCDS?

Hi,
I have a RNS510 from a Golf that I bought overseas, but I don't know if it is coming with the anti theft pin code. Is this something I can solve with VCDS , or do I need to sort it through a dealer? I was hoping to learn to do all the coding myself, but don't want to buy VCDS if I am going to have to take it to the dealer anyway. Any advice?

Vcds can't get the pin.
Setconfig or rnsmanager can do it.
There are also some places online that will get the pin for you for a fee.
But wait until it arrives the seller should provide the pin.

If you have a contact at a dealer they can get it, if you provide the serial number off it.

Thanks for all those replies! I will see if the Pin comes with the head unit, but that has given me peace of mind that there is a backup plan.
