  • Proper VCDS coding for 9w7 BT install into an RCD510 equipped 04/11 6R Polo?

    Hi,

I Got my BT kit yesterday and installed last night. Going from the coding instructions, it says that i need to go into the CAN gateway and add 77 - Phone to the installed list which i have done.

Then go into 77 - Phone and change the coding to 0A01000000010110 which i have also done.

However it now says that you need to go into 16 - Steeringwheel and enable the PTT function. Well In my 2011 Polo I dont have a 16 control unit. The only reference i could find to PTT was in 03 - Central Electronics which I have since enabled, but the only change that made was to disable the microphone button. It had previoulsy muted the stereo and paused any SD card music, where as when i enable the PTT in 03 the button seems to now do nothing.

I was told that given the BT unit is so new it may not function, which if that is correct but i thought i would just ask.

Also, my MFD (white) in the kombi does not show anything relating to the phone, even when i am in a call, is that right? All the pictures that I have seen have phone details showing up. Am i missing some coding steps?

    Cheers,
    Aaron

If you're in need of any 6n1 parts, odds are that I am going to have them (dismantling 2 at the moment)

Module 16 is the Steering Wheel. Perhaps your wheel is a different number?

This coding section isn't strictly necessary either. It changes the microphone button on your steering wheel to enable the voice control (which doesn't always work depending on the wiring loom provided). I prefer using that button to pause/mute the audio source so didn't bother with it.
Some say he was the Stig... all we know is that he drives a VW Transporter.

      Hi Ryan,

Yeah i got it all working in the end, we dont have a 16 in the TSI it would seem, its all in central electronics, so after enabling the option in 77-Telephone, I found the option, got it to work, and will disable it when i get home tonight as I too, dont like it. Ross-tech just came back and have registered my VCDS cable for tech support so thats good also..

Did you even managed to get the Voice Control to work with the bluetooth? I have a Polo 6R Bluemotion 2013, which I retrofitted with an RCD510 and 9W7. I am unable to get the 9W7 to make announcements, the controller refuses. I get a "Refused by Control Module, message 7F 22 72".

Would be nice to see your autoscan so I can compare the coding in case you got it to work.
