Problem solved - the OBDeleven app did work: the footlights do come on with the courtesy lights. I had expected them to appear as a menu item in the MFD. They look great!

I'm trying to activate footwell lights on my dad's 2011 B7 Passat.

I fitted the lights a couple of days ago, and used my OBDeleven 2 (basic account) to try and activate them yesterday. I used the "Footwell lights" app (10 credits) in OBDeleven, but it hasn't activated the lights in the MFD menu.

It looks like I also need to check the "Footwell lights with Terminal 58d active" (Central electrics 09, bit 4), which I can see in the OBDeleven VAG app, but it needs a Pro account to change, and I don't think I've got any other use for getting a Pro account...
