Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I've had a dsg tune on mk6R and I can recommend it. It makes Drive more like Sport without the holding of the high revs in the gears and it makes Sport a little bit closer to Drive. I find Drive perfect for normal driving and I have had my car on a track, not full on sprints but pretty quick and I found Sport perfect for that.2001 Bora 4 Motion Sport now used by number two son
2011 Skoda Octavia Scout now with Underground Performance tune
2010 Jetta 125 tdi dsg for the misses - Impressed
2006 Polo GTI - Enhanced by some of Gav's magic - Absolutely loving it

Depends if the car is stock or not, the Mk7 (S38V) has the DSG so much more sorted than the Mk6 but if the car is tuned yes you will need it done if only to skirt around torque limits in the box. That aside the shift points still aren't quite right either erring on the economy side just not as woeful as the mk6, so its still worthwhile. The thing about a DSG remap is that you are using it all the time vs an ECU tune where its only when you have the opportunity to do so.
